Brighter Support For Australian Trucking
- Brighter has been welcomed as a supporting partner of the Australian Trucking Association
- The ATA represents 50,000 businesses and 200,000 people in the trucking industry
- The partnership strengthens a relationship between the vital trucking and natural gas industries
The Australian Trucking Association has today welcomed Brighter as a supporting partner, strengthening the relationship between Australia’s trucking and natural gas industries.
The Australian Trucking Association and its member associations collectively represent the 50,000 business and 200,000 people in the Australian trucking industry. Together, we are committed to safety, professionalism and viability.
Brighter is an initiative of the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association (APPEA) and exists to showcase stories of natural gas and how it is used in everyday life.
“The ATA and the natural gas sector have a strong connection as we both represent industries that are a vital part of the Australian way of life,” ATA CEO Ben Maguire said today.
“The backbone of both our industries lie in the regional and rural towns of Australia. Whether it’s local transport companies or the natural gas projects based near regional communities, we support communities, local jobs and small businesses” he said.
Director for the Brighter program, Sarah Browne said there were many other areas in which trucking and the natural gas industry crossed paths.
“Whether it be through developing cleaner fuels, working together on local projects, upgrades to regional roads or programs to make our shared roads safer, we have much in common.
“We look forward to working with the ATA to showcase some of the people and businesses around the country and their invaluable contribution to the trucking and natural gas industries.”
Following a successful partnership with the ATA through the Trucking Australia Business Lunch in Perth earlier this year, APPEA’s Brighter program will continue as a major sponsor of the Business Lunch in 2020, demonstrating its support for small and medium sized businesses in the Australian trucking industry.
The ongoing partnership also provides an opportunity for further collaboration between the trucking and natural gas industries, including through the Brighter Bright Spark program, which tells the stories of hard-working people employed directly and indirectly by the natural gas industry, including truck drivers and trucking operators.
About Brighter: Brighter is an initiative of APPEA, the voice of the Australian oil and gas industry. Brighter is all about natural gas and how we use it every day. As a naturally occurring and abundant resource, it will continue to play an important role in powering Australian homes and businesses.
