Celebrating World Environment Day
Today, gatherers around the world are celebrating World Environment Day, a United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) that has spread awareness since 1974.
Organisers encouraged people all across the world to register events to mark the occasion, with nearly 1300 events registered altogether.
World Environment Day spreads a message to protect the environment and learn about the varied ecosystems that exist on our planet.
This year, organisers are encouraging people to become part of ‘Generation Restoration’ and ‘Reimagine, Recreate and Restore’.
Australia’s natural gas industry is held to the highest environmental standards at all stages of the approvals process, and supports environmental conservation and preservation in keeping with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. The industry also fosters and supports community initiatives aimed at protecting the environment, including fire abatement programs, tree plantings, artificial reefs, and other conservation initiatives.
