Brighter proudly sponsors WA Rotary Clubs this Australia Day

Australia Day means different things to different people, but nothing unites Australians like a good barbecue. The Western Australian Rotary Clubs of Gosnells, Boulder, Hannans, and Kalgoorlie seem to think so too, which is why they are bringing people together with their regional cook-ups this Australia Day.

The four clubs are celebrating the big day across two separate events, with Gosnells hosting its own activities, and Boulder, Hannans, and Kalgoorlie combining forces for their own event.

The Rotary Club of Gosnells held its fixture ‘Big Breakfast’ to great success, gathering local Rotarians and other residents in celebration of Australia Day. Meanwhile, the Rotary Clubs of Boulder, Hannans, and Kalgoorlie’s event included a BBQ (naturally!), a Lamington bake-off competition, thong-throwing contest, and more, all complemented with a live performance by Goldfields Brass Band.

“Rotary is all about service above self, and together with our donors, sponsors and supporters we all look forward to getting up at 5am, setting up the park, cracking up the BBQs, and cooking up a storm,” said Rotary Club of Boulder President Stuart Fleming.

“It’s a great day to see family and friends come together — we have some light entertainment throughout the morning as well as a few competitions and games. It’s all about coming together, having fun, and raising a bit of money for local community groups and projects.”

Brighter is proud to sponsor these Rotary events in support of the clubs and their respective communities. The team at Brighter coordinated with the organisers of both the Gosnell and Boulder events to supply Brighter-branded aprons, BBQ utensils, caps, and bunting for use by the Rotary clubs. Rotary’s global network of more than 35,000 clubs share a responsibility to support local economies, foster community collaboration and adopt social causes, with all money raised at the events to go back into local projects run by the clubs.

Brighter Director Sarah Browne said the sponsorship was a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the good work being done by local communities this Australia Day.

“We’ve been happy to support these events; the Rotary Clubs of Gosnells, Boulder, Hannans, and Kalgoorlie are doing great work in Western Australia, and it’s great to see people coming together to have fun for a good cause this Australia Day,” she said.
